Baking and Decorative Art Standards

Baking and Decorative Arts Standard is a six-week culinary program designed to prepare adults with skills to move from a baker at home to a baker in a commercial kitchen. Participants of the BDAS program will gain credibility and connections to major employers within the culinary industry. This program leads to Industry-Recognized Certificate or Certification Employment Measurable Skill Gain Leading to a Credential Measurable Skill Gain Leading to Employment Related Occupations First-Line Supervisors of Food Preparation and Serving Workers Baker, Institution and Cafeteria Baker, Restaurant BDAS participants successfully completing the program will earn a ServSafe Certification Signature Sweets has developed relationships with local employers in the hospitality industry. These employers participate throughout training; motivating students, acting as judges BDAS provides: Job Readiness Hands-on culinary workshops ServSafe Certification Food Safety procedures Career exploration in Food Services Guest Speakers Dessert Services Practicum Eligibility Requirements Must be 18 years of age or older High school diploma or equivalency
